Day 9

FA Cup day and horrendous weather. So do I stay in and watch the footy or go to my local to watch it. Nah I’m walking to runcorn to carry on exploring. The rain turns biblical at one point so I hide under an over pass to shelter.

The Red Admiral - Runcorn

I escape the rain and enter the Red Admiral looking somewhat out of place with my soaked clothes!!. However a very welcoming bartender and locals sat around the bar make me feel welcome. I take my pint of Carling to the back to dry off.

Norton Arms- Halton

I walk down Boston Avenue through housing estates and under dual carriage ways then suddenly I happen across the Norton Arms, it feels time has frozen around this part and all the industry and hustle is left behind what feels like going back in time. An excellent pint of hand pulled Boddingtons.

The Castle at Halton - Halton

Again I’m joined by Jane and we walk to the Castle at halton. I’ve been here before and it doesn’t disappoint. High up on it’s own mound we enjoy pints of their own bitter.
